Neil Garner

Neil is a passionate hands-on leader and new product innovator  with a DPhil in AI for Speech Recognition and 1st Class MEng in Electronic Engineering.

With 25+ years of working as lead consultant or business leader pioneering many innovative cross disciplinary consumer technology products creating winning teams working with global brands.

He has deep knowledge of proximity/wallet technologies used in products with a simple user experience, using a SaaS platform approach  that enables products & services to be  across many customers & sectors.

Neil helps clients innovate, develop new product strategies and execute with speed, while balancing the technical, security and user experience requirements, including:

  • Quickly create new digital products, develop product strategy, manage product roadmap and lead product marketing activities
  • Adopt user-centered design, applying data-driven insights, executing projects in agile, and hiring/leading teams
  • Create, develop and launch new digital products via  new selected  technology delivery partnerships
  • Manage technology delivery programmes & projects

Key achievements include:

  • Led the development of a number of  worlds first mobile wallet and contactless payment products before the advent of Apple Pay, working closely with global card schemes, handset manufacturers, banks and network operators

  • Pioneered an innovative business  contactless donations product working with major charities, banks and payment processing businesses, helping charities raise £8m in donations.

  • Raised over £22m in funding for various businesses, hired over 250 staff, led a business to become a a plc and managed 2 successful acquisitions.

  • Created and  deployed out two smartphone products for small businesses deployed  in partnership with local authorities and business improvement districts.

  • Led the teams that designed & built  contactless payments for Amex & Mastercard, M-Pesa for Vodafone and Skycard for Mastercard, Barclaycard & Sky.
