It always amazes me why so many companies ignore the payments part of their sales funnel. It’s got to be one of the main ways to get a vital conversion boost, building additional revenue and improving marketing ROI. Companies focus on everything else, but not here. Madness.

Pay_Online1How can they do it? First off, make the payment experience seamless, don’t send them off to another environment as it’s a perfect step to induce churn. Offer the payment options that the customer wants to pay you with…if you don’t provide it they can go elsewhere. At the same time, don’t crowd them with multiple options, make the set ‘adapt’ to the customer. Ensure your risk mechanisms are not letting the wrong people through, or equally importantly, ensure they are not precluding the right people. Make it simple and relevant and you will be rewarded, anything else is just another sales barrier…
